Ahh, the most common misconception in science fiction - noise in space.
Many movies get this concept wrong, but here at SpaceBooger we only promote good science! (for this week at least…)
Be sure to visit list of Bad Movie Physics and Phil Plait’s Bad Astronomy website to read more about bad use of science in popular fiction.
Here it is the promised double sized comic strip! http://www.spacebooger.com/index.php?comicID=51
First off I know that I promised a double sized 50th strip this week, but how could SpaceBooger not respond to a death in our own WebComic Community?
If you have not read Monday’s installment of “The Rack” you many want to check it out first because this week’s SpaceBooger comic contains spoilers.
In the comic book community the death of a comic character has become somewhat of a joke. Death, which should be permanent, seems to have the same revolving door in comic books that a soap operas have. Monday’s installment of “The Rack” featured the death of a character. The character may not have been very prominent or memorable, as joked about in my SpaceBooger strip, but the death seemed real and emotional. Unlike the deaths in the major publisher’s comics, this death did not seem like a gimmick or unnecessary sacrifice. The death of Alfredo, a seemingly unknown character seems real and emotional because of how it effects the other characters, not the story line.
There is not too much to say about this week’s comic since readers of “The Rack” will get it and those who don’t read it better jump on the bandwagon. The Rack is a comic strip about a comic shop written by Kevin Church (beaucoupkevin.com) who writes web and print comics and even has a comic blog in which partially served as a template for SpaceBooger.com. Benjamin Birdie (benjaminbirdie.com) is the other half of the dynamic duo and provides the art chores on the comic. I have always believed that fame can be granted to some only by death - Alfredo’s chance for fame is near. I look forward to some flashback strips featuring Alfredo in the near future over at www.therackcomic.com

The Spammer’s storyline is close to coming to an end. Not only is the storyline ending soon, the life of the little captured Spammer may also come to an end if he does not tell the Booger what he wants to know.
Special Features:
In the second panel we see the Spammer finally give in to the electric shock torture. This panel is based on the scene in Rambo: First Blood Part II where the Soviet Military torture John Rambo after being captured by the Vietnamese.
The Spammer doing what it does best, using another’s identity, states that he is the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Originally the dialog from the third panel said “Shut Up! I’m not the DJ and you’re not the Rapper. Keep using stolen identities if you want…” I still don’t know why I picked Will Smith as the stolen identity… maybe it was because I just watched “I Am Legend” again recently.

Today’s webcomic continues the invasion of our character’s privacy by Spammers.
The motivation towards the handeling of the captured Spammer comes from this comic related video game:
