Something is up with the site and comments…

Something is not working right with the comments on this site, at least in IE.

The site shows up fine in Firefox, but not IE… I don’t get it.

So, until I can figure out what is wrong that will be my main focus instead of the normal comic babble.

2 Legit for Net-Radio

I am still tweaking the artwork and my style for the comic but I had a good idea for a comic, so I present: 2 Legit for Net-Radio

First: Internet Radio

Recently Internet radio has been under pressure to pay royalties for the music they play. These royalties are not just for when legislation is in-place but net radio stations can be charged for music they played as far back as 2006. In protest to the “outrageous rates” being charged many Internet radio stations went silent on July 26, 2007.

Second: MC Hammer

I got the idea for the comic while reading about the day of silence on Yahoo! Music. Since I still have not found the total niche for the webcomic, either art or content, I wanted to add some humor. Whats more funny than MC Hammer’s rise, fall, and then attempt at renaming himself in a more Gangsta image minus the “MC”. Nothing right.. well kinda. Whats funnier than Hammer’s Gangsta image was the banned video for Pumps and a Bump which featured Hammer rocking the Banana Hammock. Hammer then remade the video without him in a Speedo trying to reinforce his gangsta image since MTV would not play the original deeming that Hammer in a speedo was too graphic.

Not Gangsta:

Still not, but more Gangsta:

Blame it on the Rain, that keeps on falling…

First of all, sorry.

I have not posted in a while, since last Wednesday. It started as a need to update my resume and ended with a guitar and the awesomeness that is Guitar Hero. In between rewriting my resume and wasting time playing Guitar Hero, I also received about 100 Legion of Superhero comics from the 70’s from ebay on Thursday and worked on revamping the art style for the webcomic.

So I now will present you with some missing posts that were originally planned for Friday and Saturday:

I have always been impressed with Bahlactus’ Friday Night Fights and was planning on joining in last Friday, so instead I will post it now.

shrouken
Batman uppercutting while listening to the ultimate fight song on his iPod:
“If you like pina colada…”

Moving on to Saturday Sales:

aby the power of greyskull
Yeah since I was 17 my voice has been real raspy. Maybe if I purchased this booklet I would not be compared to Tone Loc or asked if I smoke ten packs of cigarettes each day.
(and for the record, the answer is “no I do not smoke”)

My files are lost forever…

tookfiles.jpg

My Photoshop files for this site and the new and awesome SpaceBooger logo are lost in cyberspace. Not really lost in cyberspace they were deleted from my Window’s Recycle Bin now lost on my hardrive… lost in cyberspace sounds cooler though.

I was deleting, and organizing, the crazy amount of files found on my desktop after updating this site. My Superman wallpaper was being overran by infestations of .rar, .zip, .psd, .png, .jpg, and I think even the the h.i.v. OK maybe not the last one, but I accidentally deleted the template files for all graphics found on this site.

Like Dr. Light was in Identity Crisis, I am also pissed!

quick post to test new permalinks… and the replacement for bat-nipples

The main overhaul of the site is done. I’m sure there are some bugs and some announces that will be changed, but for the most part its done.

I changed the permalink structures of the posts so that the url itself is more informative. The urls for the posts used to have some cryptic number system, now it will use the date of the post and the title… making it more search engine friendly.

Now if you visits at a later date and notice that the new permalinks don’t exist, that means I failed and can not pimp google and other search engines for visitors.

Speaking of visitors, lets get back to business: Your weekly Batman for Independence week 2007

bullet proof crotch

Out for 2008 are the Bat-Nipples and in the new Movie “The Dark Knight” Batman will square off with the Joker wearing what looks like wiffle-ball armor.
I am not a fan of the body armor style suit to begin with… but what good is body armor if its segmented?

The new site design is finally finished!

So I threw together a quick wallpaper image with the new site design and the fake comic cover I drew in June.

I’m not dead, yet…

“I’m not dead.”
“Ere, he says he’s not dead yet.”

This summer has been nuts… family in town, family vacations*, summer job**, and writing the proposal/first draft of my masters program thesis***.

“Well, he will be soon, he’s very ill.”
“I’m getting better.”

Oh, and when I have had time to drop a quick note on the site I have been playing around with the layout and design… The old design with the comic book style cover was not compatible with the newest version of Wordpress. So I have been taking some other free designs and playing around with them, adding the comic and testing them out. It is kinda hard to determine whether or not a theme will work, you have to use your imagination to envision how a pre-created theme will look with spacebooger graphics and my personal touch.

“I don’t want to go on the cart.”

Here are 4 examples of themes I have kept so far, these are the best of about 12 that I have played around with.

Test Images

“I feel fine.”

Right now I am liking the plain style that is being used right now, so until I find another theme I like this will be the SpaceBooger default… but I am quite fond of the top-left theme that I was playing with last night…

“I think I’ll go for a walk.”

notes:
* Vacations thus far: Ceder Point and White Water Rafting on the New River
** I am one of two counselors at camp that takes middle school students canoing, biking, and water skiing/tubing all summer - what a great job, I get paid to play around.
*** My thesis is how to lessen the gap between middle school student’s standardized test scores and report card grades… In simple terms, I am researching a solution to students failing based on missing assignments yet passing the state achievement tests.

“I feel Happy! I feel Happy!”

Site being reconstructed

There has been a lack of posts, but if you have visited recently you will notice small changes each day.

I am trying to rework the design of SpaceBooger to match the webcomic more… I do miss the Comic Book theme though…

I will keep playing with the design and hopefully start posting on a more regular basis… the end of the school year is hectic for me - Track Season, Track Banquet, 2 all-nighters, Grad School, Final Grades, Final Exams, Award Banquets, Spring Housework, etc…

Here is something I threw together as the design for my homeroom’s Sports Day (middle school track & field day):

chocolate chincilla

The students came up with the name and the Chocolate Chinchilla was drawn with a sharpie to look all hyper and spaz-tatic!

Comic #3 - Plug??

SpaceBooger Webcomic 3 - Plug??
I find this comic humorous… I want to explain it, but if I do that means I have no confidence in my strip.

This may not be the funniest comic, but it entertains me. In the end that is all that counts, and I just hope you read it, chuckle, and enjoy the ride.

The rest of the posts have been slow to nonexistent. The reason is after looking back on this comic’s 3rd panel I noticed that my inking job either sucks or rushed… more-so the later.
Instead of reading comics and posting here I have been reading up on using Adobe Illustrator to digitally ink my comics. This means that comic #6 may be digitally inked since #5 is already drawn and scanned. As for comic #4…

… Tomorrow, February 1, 2007 is Hourly Comic Day and I plan to participate. Here is the rules from The Best Friends Forever Alliance’s Site:

beginning the hour it becomes February first, in your time zone, you will make a journal comic describing your past hour, for every hour that you are awake. no one wants to read about you sleeping!
SO let’s say that you are awake at 7:37am. make a comic before 8am! and when you have done that, you will need to make another comic some time before 9am!
you will do this every hour until it becomes February 2nd! (midnight!) OR until you go to bed and stay asleep past midnight.

Keep your browsers coming back because if I pull this off comic #4 will not feature the normal characters but instead an hourly comic documenting my day from the alarm clock to my normal Thursday night at the bar… I can’t guarantee what they look like from then on.
