LWIC: Sinestro Has A Silly Hair Cut… Good Thing It’s The BLACKEST NIGHT!

Last Week In Comics:
A fresh take on 5 day-old comics.

Amazing Spider-Man #607

Peter Parker is no longer married to a supermodel, and has returned to his normal mumbling moronic self when approached by a girl. Recently the Chameleon hooked Pete up with his current roommate Michelle, who Pete never really had any interest in… other than the one night stand after his aunt’s wedding. Not only is his roommate jonesing for him, his coworker Nora is interested in Pete and MJ has returned to the mix. You would think that with all of the female problems that Pete is having, he would love slipping into his costume and use Spidey as an escape, but… The Black Cat is back along with her Bad Luck powers and her thing for Spider-Man. LWIC:

With only two bullet points worth noting in this comic, its safe to say that Peter’s personal life is enough to carry a comic, but that is something I don’t want to see three times a month. Lets hope there is a healthy dose of super-heroics mixed into future issues along with personal crises.

Blackest Night: Green Lantern #46

It was recently relieved that the Black Lanterns light can only be completely destroyed by pure white light created fromthe emotional spectrum from each of the different colored Lantern Corps’ light. The battles all over the universe continue including Earth, and Hal Jordan rejoins the fight where it started – Space. LWIC:

With exciting fights that are full of action and dialog that all moves the overall story forward this comic may return the Blackest Night back to elite status in collection.

Blackest Night: Titans #2

The first issue of this series focused on the original Hawk, Hank Hall, returning from the dead to kill the new Hawk and Dove. Hawk and Dove are not the only honorary (not current) Titans attacked, the main team is also attacked by once dead teammates and family. LWIC:

Of all the tie in series this one is the weakest. If it wasn’t for me being intrigued by the fact that Dove shows no emotion, or color on the “lantern spectrum” will keep be coming back to this title until the conclusion/explanation.

Superman #692

Superman left Earth to join, and spy, on the people from his home world on New Krypton. With Superman off planet and Earth about wage war on all Kryptonians, he left his childhood friend Mon-El (from Daxam, not Krypton) in charge of protecting Metropolis. Since then the US Government, lead by General Sam Lane, has continued to work behind the scenes to fuel the hatred of Kryponians on Earth. With kryptonite powered agents posing as members of the Superman family, General Lane’s soldiers murdered Mon-El and wreck havoc on Metropolis’ sewers. LWIC:

Ok, this comic really bothered me. REALLY BOTHERED ME! The reason it bothered me is the fact that the Guardian told everyone that Kent was Mon-El. I wonder if anyone else will put two and two together that Clark KENT was missing while Superman was dead in the 90’s and that he is on leave from the Daily Planet now that Superman is off world. Hmm…

And then word will get out and Ma Kent will get shot and Clark and Lois will have to sell their marriage to Neron. Not good!

Why didn’t they just go with Bob Cobb (or Robert or Bobby)?

    notintheface,
Its not like the events in Blackest Night:Superman is helping… think about it – a Zombie Superman and Lois Lane attack the Kent farm… hmm Zombie Superman and his wife Lois Lane, attacking the Kent family farm home of Clark Kent who is married to the alive Lois Lane.
