Friday Night Fights:Feet of Fury Round 2

Yesterday my 2nd son was born, today is my birthday,
and tonight it’s time to fight!

To quote Batman:
“And I Came To Fight! Got It?”

Crisis On Earth Prime starts the fight off two kicks in three panels.

Meekrat can kick from multiple angles… or was that his clone… I can never keep those two straight.

Hero Sandwich is not all about hopping on the bandwagon, instead he is kicking “dorks” off it.

Stars and Garters is all about the “Dark Vengeance!”

But Before I Kill You knows that an indestructible skeleton and claws still don’t “pop” like a foot to the face!

ShadowWing Tronix has three kicks from one book, they don’t seem consecutive but they do seem painful.

Slay Monstrobot of the Deep shows a couple fighting with their feet… fighting bad guys that is!

Fantasy Theater fights the righteous fight. KICK EM IN THE HEAD!

The Sock Drawer celebrates “National Talk Like a Pirate Day” one day early and in perfect Friday Night Fight style!

NEW/LATE ENTRY: Marvel Flipside kicks his way through time zones and makes it into round three!

Don’t forget to post up a comment voting for your favorite fight by Sunday @ 11PM.

All votes will be considered, but in the end I will have the final say. The winner will be announced next Tuesday with the pre-fight rules.

  1. Scott Says:

Another excellent round — Stars and Garters was close, ’cause I love Misfit. ShadowWing was close, ’cause I love crossovers. But jkcarrier gets my vote, ’cause the Black Panther kicking the hell out of Klan thugs is entirely awesome.

  2. ShadowWing Tronix Says:

For the record, the first two panels in my entry do come one after another, but the final one is actually from earlier in the book, It was the harder kick, and I was Shockwave was making a point about the kicks in general.

  3. ShadowWing Tronix Says:

I should probably vote, shouldn’t I? Anyway, I do give points to jkcarrier for the same reason Scott voted for it, and Stars and Garters for the most fun kick. Ultimately, however, my vote goes to Slay for giving us quantity and quality.

  4. Woody! Says:

ShadowWing. I miss Bagley’s art, especially on Spider-Man. Seeing Bags kicking it with Bats and Spidey gets my vote.

  5. Mike P Says:

    Congratulations, Fred!

My vote goes to “Stars and Garters” because it fills me with the most glee.

  6. J. Kevin Carrier Says:

Hero Sandwich gets my vote…there’s no kick quite like a cute girl kick.

  7. Stefan Says:

Oh, Fantasy Theater for certain this round. That’s a beautiful splash page.

  8. Danny Flipside Says:

Dang it! Living in Japan makes time zones a bit complicated. For the record, here is my post: http://ozbot.typepad.com/marvelflipside/2009/09/friday-night-fights-spiderman-vs-manwolf.html

And I’m not even sure it counts as a “kick”, but he feet are still furious. As for the actually qualified stuff:

Crisis oEP: I actually like that oh-so-casual karate chop in the first panel best.
Meerkat: That took me a while to figure out, but I think Spidey is kicking the grate and KOing two guards in the process. A bit awkward in the staging there, but not your fault
Herowich: Awesome panel! A great indy choice.
B4IKU: Funny stuff– the choice of panels and the commentary.
SwingX: Bats and Spidey vs Carnage– wow! nice two-foot kick. So very very 90s.
Slay– two great panels, a cover shot, AND a dig at Greg Land? Sweet!
JC– I actually remember that panel quite well, as it was in the middle of a Priest-inspired BP-hunting craze
    SockyD– Pirates!

I’m narrowing it down to Shadowing, Hero, and JC, and I the vote goes to Hero Sandwich!

  9. notintheface Says:

    Hey, what about me?

    Just kidding, Danny!

I’m voting to give Tronix his first win for the triple shot of Bagley.

  10. Danny Flipside Says:

AAAH! How could I have missed one!?

“S&G: This made me laugh. Something about seeing the cry of ‘Dark Vengeance’ and feeling like it’s a metaphor for all the ‘Dark Reign’ stuff kicking me in the face.”

AAAH! x 2: I didn’t comment on our host’s picture– and it was even his birthday!

“SBoog: Sometimes I wish that I, too, could swing around girders of a construction site to add force to my kicks.”
