Webcomic: A Wii Accident

This week’s webcomic shows a frustration of mine since getting a Nintendo Wii.

When the Nintendo first came out with the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) I have thrown my controller in fits of frustration caused by bad jumps, stupid mistakes, and lack of credits to continue.

After Christmas I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Nintendo Wii. While playing Wii Sports I was (and still am) almost anal about making sure that everyone who plays has their Wiimote’s wrist-strap on tight for fear that one of the Wiimotes may end up destroying my HD TV.After playing Wii Sports almost continuously for a couple days I purchased my first Wii game: Super Mario Galaxy.

Super Mario Galaxy is a great game, I get the same feeling that I did when I firs played the original Super Mario Brothers on the NES back in 1986. No other game since the original Super Mario Brothers on the NES has given me the same excitement, adrenaline, and enjoyable frustration until now.

In the late ’80s I would chuck my NES controller when a jump was misplaced leading to death, with the same emotions flaring while playing Super Mario Galaxy the Wiimote’s wrist-strap has saved my TV a couple times…
