If you don’t want to read my babble, just watch the movie - trust me it is worth it.
One of the greatest comic book events ever was the Death of Superman in 1993. What was seen as a marketing gimmick lead the way to the greatest Superman stories of all time: The World Without a Superman and The Return of Superman.
The death may have been a way to boost sales, but looking at a world that was used to having a Godlike savior cope without him is pure genius! These comic books gave me the appreciation for a hero, for what a hero should be, and made me realize that too many people in todays world have no clue as to what a hero truly is. The World Without a Superman and the connected stories are closely treasured by me, on on my birthday these stories will become what looks to be a great animated movie.
Today’s Comic is an idea I came up with during the creation of the Missing Piece of Pac-Man character. Like the Cheesy Porn strip one can only wonder what exactly the Missing Piece of Pac-Man is doing in the pizza… Sara says he is just trying to “fit in”, you judge for yourself
You may notice some inconsitancy with the art within the comic each week, I still am trying to find a way to draw the web comic.
Right now the process is slow and inconstant. I started off drawing the comic by penciling each individual panel, inking it, erasing the pencils, and scanning it. This looked nice but since each panel was sized different the lines thickness was not consistent. To reduce the amount of panel mismatching I tried to draw the comic real-size, but drawing the comic the same size showed more inconstancy of the inking when scanned.
By the way, I suck at inking.
After that failed I tried to digitally ink the comic, my hand is not steady enough, my tablet is too small (4″x6″), so I will keep working at that.
Since I think that my pencils are always better than my ink, I will be trying a new style. Sketching in a fine point pen and then inking with thicker lines. This will hopefully keep some of the sketch and not show the horrible inking.
