A legend passes, to open up the run of an awesome legacy.

Common rule of football… A passing game will open up the running game. Bill Walsh, a football legend passed yesterday leaving a legacy that will run forever.

I began watching Football in the 1980’s and was a full time fan by the ’90s. Modern-day training camp, African American coaches, and the West Coast Offense have almost always been part of my daily NFL life. The game that I love, the game that I give up all day Sunday for would not be the same if it wasn’t for Bill Walsh.

Not only did Bill Walsh win 3 Superbowls in a decade, he was considered a genus of offensive strategy. He made the game more efficient by creating: the modern day style of training camp,  scripting the first plays of a game, and the first to have the laminated play chart commonly found in coaches’ hands. His creation of the West Coast Offense focusing on the pass redefined the game of football. Most impressive to me was Bill Walsh’s accomplishment was creating the Minority Coaching Fellowship program, helping minority coaches. Many of his players described him as an extraordinary teacher of football and life, who’s lessons will live forever.

Last Week In Comics: Conjugate Instead of Cursing

Commentary on what I learned in last weeks comics that I got, had time to read, and found worthy.

All-Star Batman doesn’t have an all-star vocabulary. Only 9 pages didn’t have a curse word.

Batman is the only creature in Gotham worthy of being called “Goddamn _____.” All-Star Batman and Robin #6

“When you can’t think of a specific word or term; conjugate instead of curse word.”

Frank Miller needs to take lessons from John Rodgers’ Blue Beetle #17

What else I have learned from Blue Beetle #17

  1. Blue Beetle is still the most overall entertaining book currently printed.
  2. Its ok to be blunt and call villains: Giant Naked Bad Man.
  3. Always remind villains when you have energy beams and they have no pants.
  4. Lying to Bruce Wane gets you hero cred.

Darkseid has a soft side.Darkseid likes to keep secrets.Darkseid will have an ulcer if he keeps all his feelings inside. And…

If my father was helping me pick my friends he would have said the same thing as Mr. Kent in Superman #665
