  • The last installment introduced Print-N-Pixel: The Red Star for the Playstion 2 as the featured game. This week I plant to take an look at The Red Star Annual “Run Makita Run” that was suggested in the introduction.
"Run Makita Run" showcases the strength and talents of the main character as she searches for Maya and her rouge Skyfurnace making this story a prequel of sorts to the game.

  • The Red Star tells the story of a war between the 'United Republics of the Red Star' or a "Mythic [Soviet] Russia" who is at war with Al'Istaan, or a mythic Afghanistan. The people of Al’lstaan were no match for the U.R.R.S. Red Fleet that consisted of giant magic powered machines known as Skyfurnaces. The Skyfurnaces scorched the land and the people of Al’lstaan. The death of so many summoned the protector of Al’lstaan to fight against the Red Fleet. The soccerer Kar Dathar easily destroyed most of the Red Fleet to avenge the fallen Al’staan people.

  • Every holiday season, comic books seem to produce plenty of appropriately themed books. Like movies and games based on comic books, these holiday themed comics are either hit-or-miss. Finding a comic book that has a serious non-campy story is hard to come across. The following Batman story from 1971 is a little campy but does a great job of trying to mix the “gritty” world of the Batman with a holiday miracle.

  • I have played both all three Castlevania games on the NES but never owned them or beat them when I picked up Castlevania Bloodlines back in 1994. Earlier this year, I got a SEGA Nomad (portable Genesis) and wanted to try it out so I popped Bloodlines in. I started playing and didn’t stop until I beat it. It was the first Castlevania game I ever beat and since then I've gone back and beat Symphony of the Night for the Playstaion and The Castlevania Adventure Rebirth for the Wii. I am currently working my way through Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse on the NES. I have enjoyed every Castlevania game I have played, but Bloodlines will always be my favorite because of the game play, the story, and the fact that it was the first one I completed.
